Born to Atsiria's house Karnach as the only son among many daughters, Reiz has lived most of his life aspiring to two seperate but equal goals: the first, to perform reasonably well enough in the area of Hanalan-Atsirian foreign affairs to get by with his station; the second, to pester the Prince-Regent of Atsiria as often as possible. 5 points for frowning. Ten points for stuttering. Twenty for blushing. Thirty for-- you get the idea.
On the first, he has been fairly successful; though his gender and disregard for propriety bar him from the most important tasks, his charisma and skill with interpersonal relations (when he tries) make him an indespensible asset on the foreign affairs front (and his rather high ranking connections certainly have never hurt him, either.) He was always regarded as intelligent by his tutors, if not terribly fond of applying himself to his full potential, and he manages to balance his love for the unconventional with that intelligence and talent for the position just well enough to avoid (most) major mishaps. And keep his job. That's always a goal. ...Usually a goal. ...He thinks about it sometimes.
On the second, he is usually quite successful -- hardly surprising, considering he has had nine years of practice, after all.
He set about learning mounted archery and swordplay from an early age, specializing in the former and becoming quite good with the latter, as well -- facts that have served him well in various sparring matches and general contests of skill (both events that he very much enjoys, particularly when he beats Reeve wins.) He also rather excels at falconry, and is fond of hunting in general when he has time to spare (often.)

"Unconventional" is the word the more diplomatic of Reiz's relations might use, though it is not uncommon to hear the words "imprudent," "improper," "impossible" or any of several other variations of the word "imp" (as he is fond of pointing out) spoken in his wake. He would never deny the truth of any, actually, and is really a bit proud of his reputation, despite the impact it no doubt has on his station and professional advancement.
Reiz also has a habit -- an unfortunate habit, some might say -- of saying exactly what he thinks to whomever he wants, whenever he wants, without bothering to mince words. He enjoys teasing people -- his mother, his sisters, Reeve, Edalene, it hardly matters, and his sense of humor ranges from slightly bizarre to downright dirty, though his upbringing has instilled in him a certain respect for women, as nonchalant as he may act about it, at times.
He rarely takes anything seriously, especially concerning things that really should be -- but that isn't to say it never happens. Maybe. Aside from his more martial pursuits, Reiz is particularly fond of music, wine, making fun of Reeve's hair, being taller than Reeve, being better with the sword than Reeve, having a higher alcohol tolerance than Reeve, and seeing how far he can push his luck before Edalene bans him from the palace in Razen outright.

Tall, blonde, well built. It is generally agreed upon that a very plausible explanation for Reiz's ability to get away with the things he oftentimes manages to get away with is in some part due to the fact that his (mostly female) employers probably don't exactly mind having him around to look at.
No word on if he's heard that particular rumour, but if he has, he probably finds it very amusing.
