[edit] A Song of Ice and Fire
Possibly an even larger influence on the world of Eire, its mood, and its characters than the Fire Emblem series it was originally connected with, the ASOIAF series is a special love for many of the game's long term players, and thus there are a great deal of references.
[edit] Homages
Several characters and places in the RP were created with elements of various ASOIAF characters and locations in mind.
- Colleen is loosely based off the character Daenerys. Her Lord, Drogen, is similarly based off the character Drogo, and her brother Rory off of the character Viserys. All three characters in the RP share a relationship much like that between Daenerys, Drogo and Viserys in the novels.
- House Rhia somewhat resembles ASOIAF's House Frey, particularly in terms of its size, power and tone. It's ruling Lord Craig is based loosely off the character of Lord Walder Frey. In addition, Lorcan's horse Walder is a subtle homage to the oft-mentioned tradition in the novels of naming Frey males "Walder," after Lord Walder Frey, in order to gain his favor.
- Cameryn and Hilary are homages of a sort to Jaime and Cersei Lannister.
- Lady Anita of House Vernhail is loosely based off of the character Sansa, particularly in her idealistic view of the world.
- Lucas's father, Councilor Rickon, is named after Rickon Stark.
- Lord Elmudd of House Lireth closely resembles the character of Tywin Lannister, from personality to eventual fate.
- The personality of Fartgus was loosely based off Renly Baratheon. His horse, Loran, was named for Renly's lover, Loras.
- Hasten's horse, Lannis, is named for the Lannister family, whose sigil is a lion.
- Many aspects of House Franel were based on the Stark family. Lawrence in particular has been described as the Stark males put into a blender.
- The character of Alys was somewhat loosely inspired from ASOIAF's Asha.
- The character of Finlay was somewhat loosely inspired from ASOIAF's Bran.
- The NPC Master Cromwell, the tutor who was a second father to Reeve and Edalene, was heavily inspired from Maester Luwin.
- The country of Atsiria was heavily inspired by ASOIAF's Dorne, before much about Dorne was known.
- The country of Dentoria was (very evidently) inspired from ASOIAF's Westeros.
- The characters of Anthony, Lord of Aeda and Franz, Lord of Diarnay, are inspired largely off ASOIAF's Robert Baratheon and Eddard Stark. Anthon and Franz were wards together in Rhia as boys, much like how Robert and Ned were wards together in the Eyrie.
- The ongoing character development of the character Keane has been largely inspired by Theon Greyjoy's development in the novels.
- The circumstances surrounding Jarek's death and Relette's rape and maiming were heavily drawn from the Red Wedding.
- The Prophet of the Goddesses, Melyndra, was inspired by the character of Melisandre. Melyndra's name is also a play on Melisandre.

[edit] Mythology
- Eire was named for an old form of Ireland, for the many Celtic influences used by Rosa to build the original premise. Likewise, the sister continent that sank, Dyfneint, was named for an old form of Britain, Ireland's neighbour.
- The Seven Clerics (Dian, Danu, Athairne, Fionn, Ness, Ferdiad, and Ethniu) were all named for figures in Gaelic mythology. They range from the recognizable Danu, the goddess of the Tuatha de Danaan, to the obscure Athairne, a minor hero in a myth war.
- Morgan and her paramour Arthur are named after Morgan Le Fay and King Arthur from the Arthurian legends.
- Aine was named for the celtic goddess of faeries and fertility.
- Pandora was named for the keeper of the virtues of mankind and her box, who trapped hope inside.
- The myth of Rhaieen and Eban that is told during every Moon Festival is inspired from the tale of Chang e and Houyi from Chinese mythology.
- Delial was created with the fairytale of Cinderella in mind.

- Hobbes, a cat that Inara gave to Lauren (and Corrina ended up taking care of) is named after the tiger from the comic strip "Calvin and Hobbes."
- The Atsirian cities Cleraine and Feldri were named by Meg creatively splicing the words "Clear Rain" and "Feel Dry."
- Every Eire country was named after a bastardization of a Japanese word, because Rosa was uncreative and working on Japanese homework at the time. Atsiria for atsui, meaning hot. Dentoria for dentou, meaning tradition. Hanalan for hana, meaning flower. Kanemoria for kane, meaning money and the word more, more money, lol, Kanemoria. Kilia for kiri, meaning mist. Korin for kori, meaning ice. Megam for megami, meaning goddess.
- Rose Day coincides with Valentine's Day, Spring Fair with May Day, King's Birthday with the official birthday of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, Night of the Dead with Halloween and Day of the Fallen with Remembrance Day. These Eire holidays have some similarity with their real life counterparts.
- The national holidays of the countries coincide with those of some countries on Earth. These chosen countries are similar to the countries on the Eire continent in either history, geography or culture. Day of Mists coincides with St. Patrick's Day, Unification Day with the real birthday of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, Day of Epiphany with Republic Day (Italy), Day of Long Summer with Canada Day, Independence Day with the American Independence Day, Day of Good Harvest with Bastille Day, and Day of Summer Rain with National Day (Saudi Arabia).

The Moon Festival holds great similarities to the East Asian Moon Festival, though the date itself coincides with Easter Sunday.
