Pegasi are extremely intelligent flying horses. They are exclusively white in colour, and almost completely bereft of any markings. This makes it extremely hard for those not familiar with the species to tell them apart, although those who have trained with them seem to develop a knack for it.

While not affected by heat themselves, pegasi are incapabale of carrying young to term in temperatures above 0 degrees celcius, and thus are not able to breed or make homes outside of the country of Korin, although in extreme rarities, they have been sighted in the northernmost regions of Dentoria, Kilia, and Hanalan.

Male pegasi are rare, large, strong, spirited, and do not approach humans. The mares protect the location and safety of their studs, and few stallions are ever even seen. All domesticated pegasi are female. This naturally makes pegasi impossible to breed in captivity, and catching and training a wild pegasi is an important part of a pegasus rider/knight's responsibilities.

Pegasi are completely vegetarian. However, they can be and are often trained to attack human beings and dangerous animals. A pegasus lives 60-70 years on average.

Pegasi will not take orders from men. While male company does not seem to bother them, and they can often grow quite fond of particular men, they will not be lead, trained, given commands, or ridden by men. There have been many experiments conducted to discover the reasons behind this phenomenon, but none have yielded any results. Pegasi will fly with a man on their backs, as long as a woman is the one doing the steering.
