Mallory was born Mallorie, the daughter of a Guardian of the Altar in Megam, and she grew up following the teachings of the temple as obediently as any other child. Her father, Eron, was a busy man, and often wasn't able to spend that much time with his children due to his work, so Mallorie spent much of her younger years with her brother, Kerrik, three years her senior. As for her mother, her father never spoke of her, other than that she was dead, and Mallorie never questioned her absence. She was happy enough to be with her brother and father.
As they grew older, Mallorie joined the clergy, and raised in the ranks peacefully. But her brother was not content with that life. He became rebellious and declared his intentions not to follow his father in the clergy. The argument lasted on and off for two years, until Kerrik fled when she was fifteen, and her father began acting as if he had never had a son in the first place. Mallorie was heartbroken, and would stop merchants as they passed through Megam to ask if they had heard anything of her brother. It took two years before she finally found out that he had become a mercenary in Atsiria.
She couldn't think of any way to explain her intentions to her father without angering him further, as saying her brother's name had become taboo. Desperate, she begged one of the merchants passing through to take her with them, and for a small fee, she sneaked away and left with their caravan. Upon reaching a tavern in Conare, she wrote a letter explaining everything to her father, and methods in which to reach her. She never received a reply.
Realizing the only way to find her brother again entailed taking on the same occupation as he had, Mallorie tried to enroll in a school in Rhia for sword training, but was denied enrollment for being a girl. Several weeks later, a thin young man named Mallory requested enrollment, and though he was somewhat of a weakling and seemed somewhat feminine if you looked hard enough, he didn't do all that badly. After six years of study, Mallory was able to use a sword well enough to become a mercenary just like her brother. Only, since the day she enrolled, she had continued to disguise both her body and her voice to that of a boy.
At 26, she was still searching for her brother, working as a mercenary for hire just as he is. And it only took her ten years to figure out why she had given up everything to locate him -- childhood fancy had grown into actual attraction. She was pretty certain that her brother could never return her feelings towards him, which is probably why she has continued to pose as a boy. At least that way, she'd be able to be close to him again, even if only as a good friend.
She found him; and after discovering he had perhaps changed more than she had prepared for and a bout of self-loathing stemming from her realization she had become more like her brother than she ever intended, she returned to her father and home in Megam, retaking the name Mallorie and planning to rejoin the clergy. However, she was killed there soon after, murdered by a man named Asher.
It was later revealed that Mallorie had been a Messenger of Darkness, though whether that was the cause of her death remains unclear.

Mallory was persistant, if anything. Once she got it into her mind to do something, she'd try every possible thing she could to get it done. This primarily applied to locating her brother, which was her main priority, but also applied to any of the work she took on as a mercenary. As a result, she had been involved in more than one mission involving assasination or general killing, and it eventually didn't really bother her as much anymore. She would never back down from something once she had agreed to it, and her word was her solemn oath. Her three years as a mercenary-for-hire gave her a rather pessimistic viewpoint, and she began to look on the evils of the world as just the way things are.
She was subdued and had frequent moodswings, most often ending in melancholy.

Mallory stood at 5'7", with short blonde hair that fell away from the center of her part and was slightly messy in the back. Her eyes were a brownish gold, and she tended to wear armor and light cloaks both against the weather she faced on a daily basis, and to aid in protecting her identity as a girl.

Mallorie's journal was _certitude. It has since been adopted for use by her father, Eron. She was played by [Shiro and PB'd by Eagle from Magic Knights Rayearth, before she was killed.
