Loki is the youngest of three brothers, which include Hart, the oldest, and Irving, the... middle son. He is generally the brunt of their jokes and sometimes-cruel games that are a considered a large part of "brotherly affection". When he was nine years old, his parents died horribly in front of him, and he still finds himself affected by it moreso than his other brothers. After Hart and then Irving began training using the bow to hunt, he picked up the skill as well, if only because it seemed the natural thing to do.
When the journal network opened, Loki and his brothers were among the first few people who's books were affected by this change, and such, it led them to leaving Hanalan for the first time and going on an adventure, as they met Lady Celeste and the rest of the Franelgroup. Loki was simply happy to get away from home, as he hated being there with the memories of the past. At some point Hart decided to go back home, and so the brothers followed. They met the Princess Kelita and her group and began traveling with them for a time, before they once again ended up back at home.
Loki was not pleased by these developments.

Though of as being a 'sensitive' boy, Loki can be very sensitive, as well as very touchy. He is used to being teased and at the brunt of jokes, (usually is called 'Melissa' by his brothers) but it doesn't mean that he likes it. Animals seem to be drawn to him as well, which doesn't help, since he has developed an unhealthy fear of them after an unfortunate incident with a pack of squirrels.
He is mostly very confused about who he is and what he wants to do with his life. He wants to be more than what he is, but really doesn't know how to go about that.
He considers himself the 'sanest' of his brothers.

Loki is a lean boy, certainly scrawnier than either of his two brothers. His hair is a normal Hanalan brown, and his eyes are bright green.
