Keirnan is a lesser house of southern Dentoria that lies on the southwestern coast.

It is the other major Dentorian port city, though in comparison with Aeda, it is much less busy and is more of a fishing community. The area is famous for its seafood. The people of Keirnan live and prefer simple lives. Although they follow the religion of the Dragons, they are strongly superstitious, relying quite heavily on the advice of astrologers and fortune-tellers, and become uncharacteristically hysterical when death and misfortune are on the cards.

House Keirnan lives in stark contrast to the other Houses of the South. While the noble families of the South are large and numerous, the Keirnan noble family rarely have more than 4 children in a generation. This discrepancy has led most southern Dentorians to believe the family to be cursed, a belief that was fuelled when Lord Brendan’s mother and sister died when their ship to Floran was wrecked when the boy was six. Keirnan had been been unable to fulfil most of its duties with their rulng lord sickly and in his minority, and was under the rule of a council of regents from Rhia, headed by its heir, Lord Stephan. When Lord Brendan turned eighteen, he became more of a figurehead than a lord with true power, and was set to the task of ensuring the bloodline of Keirnan continued and died leaving an unborn child. Keirnan is now under the rule of regents until Lord Brendan's wife Eriena recovers and the child comes of age. Their banner is a white swan on an aquamarine background and their words are Fortune Favours the Faithful.
