House Franel
From Himitsu no Sensou
Franel is a lesser house of northern Dentoria. It lies to the northwest of Emeron and between Mansoure and Lireth.
Like most of northern Dentoria, most of Franel’s lands are comprised of wheat crops, though grapes for wine and apples for cider are grown at the most southernmost of its lands. Franel Manor lies on a hill, north of the surrounding villages, and is one of the more well-protected castles in Dentoria. Every year, on the first day of summer, a tournament is held that draws swordsmen from all over Dentoria.
House Franel is as much a servant to the sword as Lireth is to the horse and Mansoure is to the stave. Historically, Franel has always been a staunch supporter of House Emeron, and to this day remains its most loyal ally and trusted adviser. It maintains good relations with the other northern Houses; its ruling lords often being men of good sense and practicality has fostered relationships based on true respect. Lord Roivas, a tactician held in high esteem by Isaac of Emeron and a commander of the northern guard, ruled Franel until its sudden disappearance from history. His eldest son and heir, Lawrence, now searches with his siblings and remaining knights for the missing, and hope to restore the House to its former power. Two diagonally crossed dark blue swords pointing upwards against a white field forms House Franel’s crest. Their words are Liberty in Truth.
