[edit] Mainplot

  • Corrina, a Pillar of Light, was killed by Chiel, a Messenger of Darkness, who was subsequently killed by Terrance, another Pillar. Terrance rejoined the group after they left Cleraine, but is regarded with suspicion at worst and discomfort by many. He has insisted that he murdered Chiel simply for revenge, because he loved Corrina.
  • Lawrence, aided by Melyndra, murdered Lady Laeleena of House Atsir on the Moon Festival under the mysterious influence of the eclipse. There are no other witnesses and his guilt cannot be proven, though Joseph and Westa suspect foul play, and Laeleena's death has been ruled as suicide.
  • Melyndra led Lawrence and a small group of hand-picked members of Franelcrew out into the desert, into an underground cavern, where another rusty artifact sword was found along with the truth about the Goddesses -- the mural Melyndra has based her faith around depicts not Goddesses, but three of Kilia's seven ruling Clerics (Ethniu, Danu and Ness.) Lawrence retrieved a letter written to him by Ness, and set Jonathan the task of translating it with Lyonesse's aid.

[edit] Atsiria

  • House Atsir has been decimated, with all of its members save Joseph and Westa succumbing to madness brought on by Franelcrew's arrival. Westa has since returned to Cleraine to assume power and investigate her mother's death.
  • Queen Edalene has agreed to her brother Reeve's proposition to pretend at ignorance for the sake of the people, while Reeve gives her more information than he would like to and Ellisae gives her the information he still omits.
  • A position has opened on the Atsirian Council following the arrest of a former Councilor for treason and crimes against the Queen, for her part in the recent poisoning of Razen's water supply. Razen has since begun to recover from the damage this caused, and political hopefuls country-wide have begun to campaign for the Council spot, the victor to be chosen by Edalene herself.
  • Councilor Gideon has been removed from his duties as an official in Atsiria's army, but retains his Council position after being an initial suspect in the poisoning of Razen's water supply due to his republican sympathies.

[edit] Dentoria

  • Hasten, Mariana, and Nicolas have met in Conare under the pretense of a grand tourney to begin the process of verifying Seraphine and presenting her to King Donal. They await Eliza's arrival in Conare to lend them further required legitimacy.
  • An unprecedented surge in outlaw activity throughout Dentoria has made travel dangerous and set all classes on edge, as the lower classes fear for their livelihood and the upper classes struggle to bring the issue under control, and protect their own.
  • House Lireth: Hasten is in Conare, tending to his claim concerning Princess Seraphine. Isanae continues to court Tarmon, competing now with Caroline of Nallen. Fartgus continues courting Chloe of Rowan, though he seems to be in no hurry to be wed, and has remained with Isanae to provide moral support and some protection against Tarmon's baser nature. Amaeyra remains in Castle Lireth, continuing a covert half-courtship with Lawrence through the journals, and playing mother to Hasten and Felicia's children -- a situation Felicia becomes increasingly resentful of. Elthea has become a whore at the Best Dress Brothel in Colndor; Hasten has sent Lila to retrieve her, believing her to be the suspected horse thief Charlotte, the maid Elthea murdered to fake her own death.
  • House Nallen: Caroline, having been thwarted by Philippa in the contest for Quinn has continued on to Emeron the hopes of besting Isanae for Lord Tarmon's hand, instead. Patrick has been kidnapped by outlaws while on an ill-advised patrol, and taken into Rowan territory, where Glenn and Kiefer seek to retrieve him. The outlaws have demanded maps of Eblar among other things as ransom Thomas has impregnated his betrothed, Therese, out of wedlock and placed his House in a precarious position, to which there seems no graceful answer.
  • House Rowan: Glenn and Kiefer have been charged with the task of retrieving Patrick of Nallen from the clutches of outlaws who have taken refuge on Rowan lands. Nerida has recently given birth to Kiefer's first son, whom he has named Aaron.
  • House Rhia: Craig has recently apprehended Asher for atrocities committed on Rhian territory, and sent him to Father Eron to answer for his crimes, among which is the murder of Eron's daughter Mallorie. Lorcan and Fallyn have returned to Rhia with their infant son Bertrand, after having apprehended and murdered Eden. They are planning with Lorcan's family for a more official wedding. Rachelle has returned to Rhia after having visited Eriena in Kiernan at the latter's request, so that her jewels could (unbeknownst to her) be used to mollify a fortune teller in town who knows Emily's true parentage.
  • House Kiernan: Eriena's predicament with an irate fortune teller who has been blackmailing her has come to an end, as Stephen discovered the situation and has been dealing with it now himself. Vanessa has been wrongly arrested as a jewel thief, a situation Eriena regrets and now seeks to remedy.
  • House Temair: Eliza has departed to Conare to meet with Lord Nicolas concerning Princess Seraphine. Philippa is courting Quinn and still seeks to undermine Eliza's authority wherever possible. Therese's pregnancy has been discovered by her fiancee Thomas and her mother-in-law to be, Jelena, who has vowed to find some solution despite narrowing odds.
  • House Diarnay: Matthias remains in Emeron with his fiance [[Hazel], with a broken leg, though he is recovering. They plan to return to Diarnay to be wed, their association with the Rayla Academy finished.

[edit] Hanalan

  • After dragons ate much of the grape harvest in Harcha, Annie's hometown, a group of people (made up of Kelita, Eri, Reiz, Daisy, and Nathan) went to help her. Kelita brought along some money from the king to help the people of Harcha recover from the hardship. The group began to departed from Harcha and returned to Floran.
  • Annie, Eri, Reiz, Ren and Daisy then departed to Razen, where they were mired there by terrorist activity. Eri took ill after the water supply was poisoned, and Daisy received instructions to join Franelcrew to keep watch over Finlay, along with two other Hanalan knights, Paul and Nathan's brother Ian. Eri has since recovered (as has Razen) and they remain in the Palace, though they have plans to depart to Dentoria in the future on holiday.
  • Ella and Mark, Annie's sister and brother, have hired Aileen, a mysterious Kilian woman searching for her twin Aine, to do Annie's share of the work since she has gone.

[edit] Kanemoria

  • Julian, Mydra and Brittany have returned to writing on the journals after a long hiatus prompted by the theft of Julian's journal. A new conspiracy seems to be breeding in Norey and elsewhere in Kanemoria, as prolific Dragon worshipers are murdered and spies are discovered within the Palace. Brittany and Vince have departed to the southern cities to investigate further.
  • Reston has demanded for Christopher's return to the city, fearing for his life after hearing reports of the earthquake in Cleraine. Jasmine is en route to the city with Christopher, both to return him and to take part in the city's famous Independence Day celebrations as Julian's date.

[edit] Kilia

  • Mona and Catriona have been lost in the forests of Kilia for some time, while the latter slowly pieces together the former's personality disorder.
  • The intruders in Cordelia's home have finally gone, after forcing her to cast a scrying spell to locate Aileen until it was successful, revealing her working in a Hanalan tavern/inn.
  • Arwen has moved in with Jayne and Oscar to study magic. Her brother Aiden has resolved never to return, a decision aggravated by Tallys's choice to tell Arwen about his presence on the journals.
  • Erin has hired Aiden as a mercenary of sorts as she travels to Megam in order to investigate the death of her husband Justin, who was murdered there under mysterious circumstances while on assignment.

[edit] Korin

  • Rayla: Eve lifted the Pegasus ban over Eire, though its effects have yet to fully disperse. She is engaged to Kray and will soon give birth to their first child out of wedlock. Ree and Keller continue to work tirelessly to diffuse the city's precarious military position, balancing allies (Taerin, Kasrae and Kaitos among them) with enemies (Sylea, Coliya, Noye and Sametar among them) and the ongoing war between Sylea and Keir.
  • House Taerin: Rodger and Clara have given birth to a son, Brandon, freeing Lauren from her obligation to return as heir after Irene's exile. Their army has been decimated by Sametar, though they remain staunch allies of Rayla however possible. A meager contingent of knights headed by Zach remains in Rayla, though Zach suffers periodic amnesia as a result of a wound he took in the battle against Sametar. Irene has fled to Megam and is building a life for herself in Chiaco with her son, Jayden. Lauren and Rae remain with Franelcrew.
  • House Mera: Lysander has had his marriage with Irene annulled, and now courts Colleen of the Fallen House Forna. Jessica continues to be conflicted about her betrothal to Valentine, and Angeline has been recovering from wounds sustained while flying with her Pegasus under the Pegasus Ban instated (and recently retracted) by Eve.
  • House Sylea: Malcolm has married and continues seeing to the ongoing war between Sylea and Keir. Keane lost his arm in a battle against Keir, and has been out of combat since, tending to Relette's wishes and needs in the meantime. Relette has married Damien of Noye, cementing their alliance, though she has been taking Moon Tea to ensure she will not become pregnant. Cylina has married into House Coliya and suffers from post-partum depression following the birth of her first child.
  • House Keir: Tyre continues to fret about Lirit's fate as a prisoner of Sylea, and head the war against them on the field.
  • House Veirnan: Myca has succumbed to his illness, leaving Symeon depressed and suicidal. Dame Edeyn has tried to cheer him, as well as help him handle his three triplet daughters, who have recently entered into the journals themselves. Stephanie of fallen House Foxworth has taken refuge with them after running away from her demented parents.
  • House Sarrca: Keran has entered into an alliance with Rory of fallen House Forna, arranging a marriage between his son Aiden and Colleen, and his daughter Rosie and Rory. In return he promises protection and power, both things Rory is greedy for, due in no small part to his paranoia at being hunted by the enemies of his House, as well as Lord Drogen of House Aartyn, whom Colleen was previously sworn to.

[edit] Megam

  • Destin of Lysel has recently married Maire of Valens, while simultaneously continuing a secret affair with his childhood friend Emery of Theane. Maire continues her training to eventually become a Guardian of the Altar.
  • Elliot has been sent to Atsiria to monitor Melyndra, likely by joining her faith himself as a spy.
  • Lillian has begun her training to become a High Priestess in Lucre, Raetha has been enlisted as a trainee in the Holy Guard after rescuing a baby dragon on Papan Island, and Mathilda has begun a courtship with Max.
  • Eudora has begun a courtship with a much older man at the behest of her father, but continues to flirt with and entertain the possibility of courting Alastair.
  • Cameryn and Hilary, incestuous lovers, have had a falling-out after Cameryn was wounded in a battle with troops sent by Lady Eve of Korin's ruling house Rayla to retrieve Irene. Cameryn has turned his attentions on Freya, a Guardian of the Altar, to make Hilary jealous.
  • Freya continues to attempt to live a life her dead twin would have wanted, and entertains Cameryn's feigned affections to these ends. She also continues to monitor matters elsewhere, including taking in Elliot's reports from Atsiria (along with Father Eron, a fellow Guardian.) She struggles not to take her mother's parting words to heart.
  • Eron now sees to the sentencing of Asher, the man who killed his daughter Mallorie, and continues to seek out Ash, an Atsirian assassin who was instrumental in his son Kerrik's escape and subsequent suicidal attack on the royal family of Atsiria.
