Christopher is the youngest son of Councillor Reston, who is a very respected member of the twelve Councillors of Kanemoria. Reston had been part of the Kanemoria High Council for many years, even before before his first child was born, and his presence there is thought to be rather stable, despite the attempts on his life. His family line is decended from one of the old noble houses that no longer exists in Kanemoria, though it is not quite publically known that they are cousins to the current ruling family. Reston is usually busy with political matters, and desired his children to be either heavily involved in politics or high ranking merchants. His wife Carlynne is well-learned and also helped instruct the children in such matters.
An up and coming young man in the political world, Christopher is around the same age as the High Prince, so it has been assumed by many that they were rivals, though that isn't the case at all. Chris knows what he is being groomed for, of course, and he knows that his father intends to see him on the throne, since he is his last hope, though that isn't what he wants; he is content to aid the country in whatever ways he can, though he doesn't care too much for the power. He'll accept the responsibility, though he's not too pleased with the position that he has been put in, especially considering the deadliness of it.
He was always facinated with the world around him, his curiosity from his younger years never leaving him. Having a natural affinity for magic, he was almost pushed into becoming a Magus after it was learned that the High Prince had taken this path as well. He was fairly educated, as his mother had graduated from the Korin Academy, and insisted upon her children studying and learning at an early age, though it was only natural that they would have high educations considering their status. He is quite profiecent with wind magic, though wishes to enhance his abilities in the other elements.
The reason why Christopher is his father's--and those that support him--last hope is simple; his is Reston's only remaining son, and perhaps the best suited for their purposes out of the three. His oldest brother was killed at the age of twenty-three, when he was only seven, under circumstances that were claimed to be accidental; he had a rather deadly fall from his horse. This death caused quite a bit of a stir, moving his second brother up the ladder, though he didn't want any part of his father's plans, resulting in quite a few arguments between him and Reston.
His second brother, whom he was close to and trained with, ran away at the age of seventeen when Chris was thirteen years old. Since then, he has been pushed even more towards politics rather abruptly. While he accepts it, he doesn't appreciate it. He has two sisters, though one is now married to a rich merchant with a handful of kids (Coral), and the other left Kanemoria to live in Dentoria, having grown annoyed with the politics and the constant threats to the family.
He continued to become invaluable to the royal family, eventually being put to use by Mydra, the Mistress of Spies, and after a time became one of her best agents, a title shared with his good friend Fayre.

Christopher is not blind to the world around him, though sometimes he pretends to be oblivious, particularily if the questions asked of him concern his future. He is intelligent, though prefers observing; not that he hasn't spent most of his life studying; he just reads people better. He tries to be as helpful as possible, which might make him seem a bit of a pushover. He is actually fairly reserved when he isn't working on anything political, but doesn't mind a good conversation.
He is good-natured and good-humored unless something happens to tick him off, which is uh, hilariously rare, as he's been trained to be a diplomat first; very charismatic. He is used to dealing with people, though can be somewhat embarrassed by it when it doesn't have anything to do with his job and is more on a personal level, and has a natural curiosity about the world, considering that he's barely been out of Kanemoria.

A good-looking boy, though he looks much younger than he is, Christopher is rather thin and of average height, standing at roughly 5'10". His skin is fair and smooth, with a healthy complexion. He has deep blue eyes and short brown hair that nearly falls to his eyes. He usually tends to wear a floppy white hat over it.
