Andrew grew up in an orphanage governed by one of the many temples littered throughout Megam. The children in the orphanage acted much like they were a large family, everyone looking out for each other and everyone always sad whenever one of the children left. The children visited their patron temple quite frequently, and it was there that Andrew first fell in love with the idea of creating music. The group arrived early one day and caught the tail end of a choir practice session. It took Andrew a good week to work up enough courage to ask if the priests could teach him to sing and play the instruments he had seen around the temple.
After that, he spent much of his time between the orphanage and the temple, learning music and sometimes assisting the choir when the priests had need of his help. While there was no paperwork dictating as such, the heads of the orphanage acted like the boy had already been adopted, and with the amount of time he spent with the priests in the choir, it certainly seemed as if he HAD been.
At fifteen, having learned all that the priests could teach him in the way of music, Andrew left the orphanage and its patron temple to share his music with others and instill in them the feelings he had first felt when he had heard the temple choir.
Two years ago, at eighteen, he met a young dancer while visiting a local pub in the hopes of earning a few wages during his stay in the town. She was a regular entertainer at the pub, and the owner decided to test Andrew's musical ability by having him play a song for her to dance to. He wound up staying in the town for a year, and left at the same time as the young dancer did, something drawing him to want to cure the sadness he had seen in her eyes and movements with his music.
While on the road, Andrew formed a relationship with the mysterious Maeve, but it ended abruptly when he discovered her connection to his father's death. Distraught, Andrew tried to chase after Maeve as she left, seeking answers, but to no avail. He's currently struggling to come to terms with things on his own.
Eventually, he and Maeve came to an understanding and remained friends. Though not in love with her, he still feels strongly enough for her to feel guilty. He's also recently become aware of Pearl's strong friendship with Dentorian knight Sawyer, and his jealousy only adds to his guilt.

Andrew is a shy young man who has trouble voicing both his opinion and his thoughts. He tends to trip over his words, especially around women, and is a romantic at heart. He'd like to believe in fairytale romances and endings, and many of his songs center around those sorts of stories.
He has a kind heart and believes he could heal all the world's troubles with just his lute and his voice, if only given enough time. Due to spending so much time in a temple during his younger years, and growing up in the religious country of Megam, he is rather religious and will offer brief prayers before meals, after performances, and at various other occasions.
Recently, Andrew has been trying to break out of his shell and speak up more often, especially when someone he cares about is being treated badly. But his timid nature always stops him from taking it very far; he's yet to win a battle of wits or wills.

Andrew has short, grayish-silver hair that obscures much of the left side of his face and blueish-grey eyes. He's somewhat tall, around 6'0" even, and tends to wear varying shades of blue.
